Antique Rudolstadt bisque boy and girl on a shared base. Lovely sepia tones that is often found on Rudolstadt pieces. This piece comes from the estate of my parents and I have had it since inheriting it 14 years ago. The modeling is just lovely on the piece right down to the intaglio eyes of the boy and girl please note the boy has brown eyes and the girl has blue! The expression on each of their faces really attests to the skill of the Rudolstadt artists. MARKINGS: The blue stamp (Germany over the Crown and Shield with Rudolstadt underneath) was used by the company from 1904 to 1924. There are also impressed marks of 4342 over 13 and a. 6 in black ink. MEASUREMENTS: 13″ tall, 8 1/2″ wide and 7 1/2 from front to back. CONDITION: Overall, very good. The fingertips of the boy’s right hand have damage, there are 3 small shallow chips on the base and a separation of the bisque in the firing process. That separation is shown in the last 2 photos I listed. As you can see it is only visible from the underside and it doesn’t travel to the front of the piece. This really is a special piece and one that has been lovingly cared for many, many years. If you have any questions please feel free to message me.
